Had some business to transact in San Jose today so found myself in the gulch. Noticed when passing Faro's they had changed the name to "Dos Gringoes" (sic) and had a sign announcing they were serving American and Costa Rican food. I was on a bus so could not stop in and get any further info. If anyone gets a chance stop in and let us know what kind of changes have occurred. |

Went there with a couple of other crt-ers fri. nov. 4 for their grand opening. Served up free drinks from 6-7, also some snacks & appetizers & a live band-was a really swingin' joint that night. Took my best shot at a non-pro that nite-a sister of a gal who tends bar @ the Nashville Bar down the street. Chatted her up, cocktails, dancing & I uncerimoniously struck out. I bade her good-nite & retreated to the del-rey, where for any man with money in his pocket, success is guaranteed. sincity |

I had an early evening meal here on 11/24. On this day at this time (5pm) there was not much of a crowd. Just a Canadian tourist (monger?) and myself. I have walked by this place many times but never eaten there. I sat at the bar, ordered fetachinni alfredo(sp) and a coca-cola. Service was good, food was very good. I do not recall the price but i remember thinking the menu had some reasonable selections. I got a friendly vibe and tried to get back during my trip but did not make it. With my limited experience, I say give it a try. Hey, the pharmacy across the street has decent prices on vitamins and food only a couple of steps away. sailor |
