1. All Around - Los Ananos, Belle Horizonte, Escazu - Great value, great food, great service, not fancy but all around best in show. 2. Steak - White House - Good USDA steaks, though they push the wine in a scammy kind of way, silly expensive as well. 3. Italian - Los Olivos, Sabana Norte - Bookie joint 4. Chicken Joint- Next to US Embassy - Best Rotisserie chicken, with home made french fries to boot. 5. Burger - Los Suenos - I know it sounds ridiculous, its a USDA burger, cooked medium rare, just perfect. |

The burger at Los Suenos is the fanmous "Mariott burger". They also have it at the San Jose Mariott and the Courtyard. Definitely worth it. |

While I believe most Courtyards only have a limited breakfast spread, this one has a limited kitchen. A lot of the business travelers were complaining that there was no in-house dining, so they decided to add a limited menu. Our poker group use to play there and I had the Mariott burger a couple of times. |

You are right! I went for lunch, perfect burger. Now how can we get them to serve Heinz? |

Dude, I'm not a magician. ![]() At least you can now get Heinz in the supermarket and slowly more restaurants are using it, usually those with a gringo clientele. Before all you could get was that disgusting sweet Banquete ketchup (which incidentally Heinz now owns). |

Post subject: | "Chicken Joint" |
I believe the chicken joint referenced is the Pollo Lenadore, or somesuch very similar name. I'm living in Pavas now and took two friends there for a bite to eat last night. The place looks like a dump. Nobody else was there, and we almost left before even looking the menu. However, I must say, the food was excellent, the best I've had in the couple of weeks I've been here. You have very few options, all involving chicken, but they are all wonderful. If you're in the area, it's right across from the Embassy and kittycorner from the large complex where Perimercados and another American looking fast-food type chicken are located. Buena provecha! |

It is the joint on the side street, between the corner and the Bank. It is facing the side of the Embassy. |
