Sky Box Sports Lounge & Restaurant: Located 2nd floor Hotel Presidente. Looking for a real home town sports bar flavor & Taste right here in SJO? The new Sky Box sports lounge and restaurant is just that place. Opened only a couple of days ago on the 2nd floor of the hotel Presidente, They are just getting going, but I had the pleasure of having a few cocktails and dining there on Saturday with GMAN, Tman and their South Florida amigo. This place is a real find and the management at the Hotel Prez has really done a great job. First off its really cool and comfortable with great recliner type chairs a big sofa along with high top bar tables and regular small rectangular dining tables as well. It has a brand new pool table, some great decor, a huge projection screen, and various smaller type TV's throughout the location. A beautiful bar with a full array of all your favorite American and national drinks. The menu consists of your typical sports bar favorites, chicken wings, onion rings, chicken fingers, your favorite burgers and sandwiches, along with some ribs, and other entrees as well. We enjoyed hand made onion rings, & some great chicken wings, and the sandwiches ordered were a great Cuban, a tasty hamburger, a Philly cheese steak and a Chicken Salad 3-decker club sandwich. All sandwiches came with curly fries and coleslaw. Everything was quite good, fresh, and the portions adequate to split. Menu sandwiches ranged about 2k to 3K depending on the order. This place maybe a secret now, but when football season comes along look out. A real nice alternative to having cocktail before heading out, with the boys or perhaps your favorite lady. TV's were not yet hooked up to a full Satellite system, which I am sure is coming very soon, as to take advantage of watching Baseball & Football and the staff is very attentive. If you’re looking for a little taste of back home this is as close as it gets in my opinion! Another fine addition to the Hotel Presidente. |

That would be nice if the girls were able to freelance in the Prez. Is that a possibility or just a dream? |

Quote: i liked sitting in those armchair's watching the big screen and it is a classy sports bar............. .
If they can not get big games like FSU/Miami or MNF what the sense of calling it a sports bar? Can sit in a armchair at home and miss the big games. |

Post subject: | Chicken Place Name?? |
Last time I was in San Juan, I went to this place that served GREAT fried chicken. Definitely a NON-gringo establishment, and I'm apparently like Supergringo from the looks of me judging by the looks on faces when I arrived, but once they found I was with natives and could speak a tiny bit of Spanish they were quite nice. The chicken was simply great, I'm told it's semi-famous among locals. IMO the key to good fried chicken is keeping the oil hot enough that it's close to the flash-point, and they did. Had nice sauces to dip, cold beer, and it's a place where there's local Tica-talent if you've got some Spanish. I think it might even be a chain of 2-3 places owned by the same guy and with the same theme. Anyway, from this crappy description, does anyone here have any idea what I'm talking about, and where it's located? Thanks. |
