I second that GREAT! Ate there in April with my wingman CG. Food was bountiful and delicious. I just wish I had felt better from the night before! ![]() Thanks DG for the recommendation, We had to walk around a bit until we found it! You know the great street markings in SJO and the signs on all the places of business........... ![]() |

8 or so years ago there was a Soda Peru between Mas X Menos and the parliament building. It had the cheapest gallo pinto breakfast anywhere downtown. They had a bunch of drunks in there and played religious TV most of the time. Go figure. I expect this Soda Peru is in no way related to the old one and look forward to trying it out in a few weeks. |

No it is definitely not! Just up the hill from Zona Blue. Walk out the front door, hang a left, go up the hill and you can't miss this quaint little soda. Thre was an old woman serving us in april, she must have been older than Circus but moved faster. ![]() |

Just had lunch at Soda Peru several hours ago. I had sea bass in seafood sauce and my friend had sea bass in garlic sauce, both with french fries and rice. Excellent food, great price and friendly service. Will definitely go back again! Zebra |

The actual Soda Peru and Delicias del Peru are both still open. Soda Peru is between Mas X Menos and the Parliament on Avenida Central and specializes in cheap beer. Delicias del Peru is the one 75 m south of ZB. I would agree with the posts saying the food is good at Delicias del Peru. The bass with mushroom sauce was good, though some of the fish was a pinch too salty for my taste. That is often true here, since salt and sugar give the most flavor bang for the buck so they get overused. I'll try it again in the next few days. |

Hi Veelee..... Delicias del Peru is one of my favorite stops. I miss it already. It was nice to meet you at the Castillo and put a face to the posts. No doubt our paths will cross there again in the future. Zebra |

God, I hate that place. You'll die of starvation waiting for your order. And if you ever want a refill of a glass of water, you better get the hell up and get it for yourself. But the old Peruvian lady who runs it is kinda sexy, though. You guys know what I'm talkin' about. Uh, huh. That's right. Bitches. |

I was there at noon, which was a mistake. Is service that bad during off hours? Many places in that neighborhood live on serving INS employees, and may ignore us. That doesn't surprise me since I've seen it often in many venues. Also, many servers have no training at all and have no clue about how to do the job efficiently. That is not just in CR, since the first time I waited tables I was just as bad. There are two types of bad waiters, the ones who ignore you and the ones who won't leave you alone. I was the latter so I wound up in the kitchen, which used my skills better. |

Yeah, it's just as bad during off hours. You'll sit there and think, "What the hell do I have to do to get her to come over to the table and refill my glass of water? Or bring some salsa or more napkins?" |
