Soda Delicias Del Peru

OK GRINGO TERMS Walk our the front door of Zona Blue and turn left and cross the street... 200 feet up on the right yellow building.

Was at ZB with Gman and Eddie of ZB suggested we head over to this Soda to have lunch. VERY Short walk to this non descript Soda without even a name on the front door. No English spoken here.

Clean glass tables with two dining levels quite big for a Soda, completely run by a Peruvian family Mom, Pop & Daughter. Menu is exstensive for a little place with only lunch and early dinner served as they close at 8PM.

All your standard peruvian dishes and a mix of some chinese fusion as well with many of their rices served like a light chinese fried rice.

Winners on the menu Cerviche some of the best I've ever had fresh, just enough lime and real sweet.

GMAN had chicken breats in garlic sauce served with white rice and small salad. Absolutely incredible, rivals any of the old Down Neck Newark portugese restaruants I used to visit.

Eddie of ZB had a massive plate of fresh Shrimp with lightly fried rice with mixed vegetabels YUM YUM.

Coffe was hot and fresh and we ordered some wonderful looking chicken and carne sandwiches for the ladies of ZB.

Most Full meals were 1500 to 1800 Colones and the sandwiches were 500K each.

The food was CHEAP, and just dam GOOD AND FRESH! So next time you have fulfilled your needs at ZB or perhaps before stop in the little Soda and have lunch you will not be disappointed.

I still dine at some of these places. Forno's is probably my favorite.

Born and raised in Newark and worked downtown Newark till 1995... Fornos is still my favorite as well hands down and I will put up Gmans boneless chicken and garlic sauce right there with fornos no problem. Mind you the dish at fornos is $15.00 bucks as of last Sept and about 3 bucks at his soda.. Of course you don't get Fornos great bread, great Sangria and all the rest but he your in SJO.

Herb, I can go on and on about Portugese rest. in Newark I ate there for most of my life.

Hi

Ate there with Bulldog, Philly Rookie and a Tico who brought us.

Had the blue plate special (of the day).

Good stuff and the price is right.

My new favorite I'm hooked on the garlic chicken. I posted pics of the restaurant and some of the dishes on VIP.

What section of VIP? There are only 3 sections for ticas. Maybe when Admin1 reads this he will consider another section for general pictures. I uploaded 2 pictures of the fire on Avenida Central, but they have not been posted yet. I also have an interior picture of Soda Delicious and a picture of the shrimp in garlic sauce I had there after a ZB session.

Goal, I am not worried about the delay in posting the pictures. I truly understand the Admins must be extremely busy keeping this board up and running and are doing a great job.

Hell man, you think I am in a hurry to see some shrimp in garlic sauce.

Admin 1...sorry to hear of your unexpected departure from the Casino
Tica Party in Quepos/MA. I'm anxious to read your report of the festivities while you were there.
