Hola hermonos,

I've done a search and found nothing on either of these two restaurants, both in the Sabana Park area.

Il Gatto - Italian

La Princesa Marina - Seafood

Anyone care to share their experience at either of them ?

Expensive ?

Quality ?

Atmosphere ?

Taxi usually know it ?

Gracias,

Ye Old Man

Cant go wrong at La Princesa Marina

Basic. Tico family seafood.

Fairly priced. Local lobster Fried in garlic butter is great.

Corvina and other fish is fresh as it gets in SJ.

I of I think of 3 resturants of the same name. Different sections of the city.

Around 1 mil + Taxi from DR. Depending on time of day and traffic.

I highly recommend La Princesa Marina. I used to live a few blocks away and I would eat there often. The food comes in large portions and is relatively inexpensive. The arroz con camarones (yellow rice with shrimp) is outstanding. There are usually a lot of expat gringos in there because it is close to the business park at Sabana Sur. It is also usually very crowded at lunchtime on Sunday when the Ticos get out of church.

I highly recommend the PM in Sabana. I went with my favorita last trip and we both had the whole sea bass, drinks and coffee. Total bill for more food then most people would eat was $16.00

Agree with the others on La Princesa Marina...Il Gatto is a waste of time & money!

LPM is one of my favorites. Great fish, ceviche, soups and very inexpensive.
Taxi knowledge can be iffy so bring the phone number with you. I heard the Sabana location is the best of the 3 LPMs.

Have been to both as I live near by.

Agree with the reviews of LPM that have been posted. Good food, quick service, clean spartan decor, reasonable pricing. Can be very crowded.
Try the pescado entero grande (just make sure you bring your appetite)

Il Gatto is basically like an inexpensive Italian chain restaurant in the US.
I would not characterize it as a waste of time and money. If you in the mood for a quick meal with adequate food at a fair price give it a try.

If you can only do one there is no contest. Go to La Princesa Marina.

LPM & Il Gatto are both located on the west side of La Sabana Parque. Just take the Escazu pista and get of the first exit. LPM will be at the exit and Il Gatto 200 meters north.
