Oh we posted the same time. Cafe Mundo near the sportsman's was wonderful for a date with a special chica but I think it closed. |

Restaurante El Novillo Alegre is a chain around San Jose at various locations even one in Jaco. It is as good as any I have found and they are good size so reservations usually are not needed. The web site is https://restauranteelnovilloalegre.com/ Highly recommend. |

Nothing beats La Esquina de Buenos Aires IMHO. Great food, great service, incredible menu of food and wine, incredible ambiance. 15 years ago one could walk in and get a table - not so now. Ya need to make a reservation - even for lunch (via WhatsApp on their website). I’ve been going there for at least 15 years and it is still my “go to” restaurant for a great night out or even a nice lunch. Hope this helps! Woozo |

restaurante silvestre kiddy korner from taormina is the best restaurant in san jose. chef owned and gourmet food really special but it is pricey |

Oops, I was responding to an old post. Anyway, it was/is open, and another one mentioned in an old post, the Del Mar, is closed. |
