If you like Chinese cuisine. Wong's located near the Presidente is a can't miss. One block more than the Mas o Menos on the same side of the street. Food is much different that typical American Chinese Restaurants at Tico prices.

Average atmosphere...Fast Service.

Peace

Thanks for the info KC. As a lover of Chinese food, it's good to know there's a decent restaurant close to the Gulch.

Question...in my experience, very few Ticas like Chinese food. In fact, I've had many instances when the Ticas refused to eat at a Chinese restaurant. One time I took a Tica to a nice little Chinese restaurant near the hotel BW Irazu, and she ate perhaps two mouthfuls and wouldn't eat anymore. I finished my meal, then ate most of hers! A couple Ticas mentioned one time that several years back, a couple of Chinese restaurants in San Jose got caught serving small rodents (rats?). I've heard that story/rumour (and jokes) for years about some Chinese restaurants in the States serving rodents, dogs, cats, etc.

Has anyone else noticed that Ticas don't like Chinese food?

I don't know about Tica's and Chinese food. My GF introduced me to the place and she loves it!

That was debunked, and the folks involved got in trouble. There were retractions all over the place, but the damage was done.

Many of the restaurants in town are Chinese owned and have some sort of Chinese-Tico fusion cuisine. Mariscar, ABC and Campesino Pollo come to mind. Fulusu has slipped a bit as far as good Chinese food is concerned, but it is still an OK place to grab a boca and a cheap beer in the gulch.
