Was looking for a good Korean restaurant and Nodally,s was recomended by a memeber.
Went there with a friend this past monday. The food was excellent. It was as good as I had hoped for.
However, I received an alert from my credit card company that strange charges were appearing on my card. They were in excess of $1100.00. I checked my transactions and I had not used that card since last December. So beware. Just saying.

You went to Nodallys last Monday, but the card was not used by you since last December.

Why do you think that the strange charges have anything to do with Nodallys :?: :?:

I think what he was trying to say was up until Monday at Nodallys, he hadn't used the card since December.

I know , very confusing!

I still confused. Beware what? Of NoDally? Since this post is a NoDally Alert am I to believe that they committed fraud? Please be clear on this!

OP's second post is no more clear than his first.

He repeated that he hadn't used the card since last December.

I'll try to translate:

OP went to eat at Nodallys, a Korean restaurant in SJO.

He loved it.

He paid for the meal with a credit card which had been unused since December 2015.

Some time after eating at Nodallys his CC company alerted him to over $1100 in suspect charges made to the same CC he used to pay at the restaurant, all (presumably) dated after the Nodallys meal.

He ends with a subtle warning to not pay for meals at Nodallys using a CC.

FWIW, that's what I got from his two posts.

mh

P.S. Thanks for the warning.

Thanks MH, that's kind of what I figured out from his posts too. I have been upcharged using my card even at bars and restaurants that I normally trust in San Jose. I am starting to ask for an itemized bill rather than just accepting what the bartender says I owe. I formerly did not do this out of laziness or because I wanted to appear like a generous high roller.
I try to only use cash now, if I can. I realized that I was being taken advantage of sometimes because I did not want to appear to be a cheap gringo, "un codo."

Been to NODallys several times. Paid there w a CC. I pay w a CC everywhere in CR. NODallys, the Mercado Central, La Esquina, local bars, Musmani, everywhere. Never had a single problem. Some retailers or places like salons will upcharge c500 if you use a CC but they always advise me before the fact. I feel very safe using my CC in CR.

Thank God you've been lucky. :)

My CCs have been charged fraudulently several times in CR. One time it was after I used a CC in one of the airport's duty free shops, of all places; I had not used that CC in SJO prior to then, nor had I used it in the States for a while before my trip.

Two days after I returned home, the CC company called to ask me about several micro transactions (crooks test your account by posting several small charges). All fraudalent.

So now I use cash. If I use a CC I do so only at places I trust (e.g. SL or Amistad). NEVER at HDR or KL.
