There was a place on the corner of 1st & 9th called Faro's, but later became Dos Gringos. I was wondering if the food (especially the steaks) is still good. |

Went for lunch at L'Amistad for the first time in June. The food is excellent there. Repeated a couple of times during that week. On my August trip, asked a chica where she wants to go for dinner. Told me she knew a good place with excellent food and nice ambiance. She took me to L'Amistad. cheers, Attila |

La Criollita Ave 7, between C7 y C9, in the shadows of the INS building, has a good menu, good prices, good hours, good service, an outdoor aviary in the back for the birders, AND the chicas like it, too. |

I like Soda Peru when I am really looking to fill up on something tasty and the low price doesn't hurt. I haven't seen anything posted on Cafe Mundo in some time. Is it still open? Never tried it but am planning on it for my next trip. |

Consider Papa Pez, a seafood place located in the El Pueblo complex that sits on a hill in Barrio Tournón, right above Barrio Amon. It has a Mexican decor, is convenient, clean, and comfortable. White tablecloths. It was a short cab ride from Hotel Mona Lisa where I stayed. I went there twice and each time enjoyed a very nice fish dinner. Complimentary chips and salsa were provided. I opted for the Italian version. A large filet was tender and flaky, topped with a tasty chopped tomato sauce. There were sides of rice and fresh cooked veggies. I believe it was about 7500 colones. |

Princesa Marina has gotten expensive. Earlier this month, I went with my woman. I paid ¢28,000 for 2 people. $56 WTF??? I had 3 ceviches (they are kind of small) and a fried fish dinner and she had some kind of mixed seafood plate and we got a small pitcher of fruit punch. |

In over my 50 trips I haven't at all the places mentioned over the years. I don't think that I will go back to JR'S as I thought it was too expensive . ML if all others are closed. Chubbs on Sat. and Sun. |

JR Ribs has (or had when I last went) a weekday lunch special for 3,500. That's the only reasonable price there, as the regular prices are much higher. |

Orange, the last time myself, Gringotim and Royboy eat there it was $30 for a rib dinner.  Plus we had to wait for over a half hour to get in but on the plus side we had a few beers while waiting.
