To all the CRT Brotherhood,

Disclaimer: If you are looking for a restaurant to be rowdy and drunk in, STOP NOW and read no further.

If you want to have a very flavorful grilled steak in a nice sit down environment please look no further than La Esquina de Argentina. This Argentine steakhouse is located in San Jose and is a block North of Tin Jo on Calle 11.

When you do go, be sure to ask for Walter to be your server and have him recommend which steak or steak combination you should order. He will not steer you wrong (pun not intended). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the skirt steak served medium or medium rare.

Save enough room for dessert because their chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream is FUDGING AWESOME! My buddies and I thought it would be too much but we devoured that sucker in less than 5 minutes it was that damn good. To order it, look for the very last item on the bottom of the menu with desserts.

Reservations are required for dinner and this restaurant is great to have dinner with a special gal pal. It's expensive, but great food usually is so stop whining and enjoy the wine instead.

Pura vida,

Allister1369

Great place, we ate there recently. I might add that the Pumpkin Soup is outstanding as well to start your meal.

Always enjoyed the beef there. La Esquina is on my "to do" list on my next trip to SJ.

Jeff from HLH recommended this place on my last trip (hell...he even called and made reservations for us!). We had skirt steak and ribeye, both were most excellent. didn't save enough room for dessert tho

True that

If you want a pretty good place w/in walking distance of the gulch, its fine - however, a better steak place (although in MO none in San Jose are great - just MHO :) ) Donde Carlos in San Pedro is better, as is La Cascada - both a little pricey, but if you pay cash w/ the CRT card, you get - or did get - a 10% discount at DC

(A foodies paradise Costa Rica is not  :o  )
