Locally-sourced restaurant features stuff locals won't catch or eat--pompano, anyone? http://travel.nytimes.com/2012/09/09/tr ... avore.html Actually there are 2 locations, Santa Ana being the other, and it started as a seafood store: http://product-c.com/ 2 other restaurants (one featuring beef) are mentioned in this article on the locavore movement in CR. |

I've dined at Doris Metropolitan in Santa Ana and it is excellent. |

Have you eaten here Sr. Jazz? I did with a visiting friend from FL long time in the restaurant biz. It was a disappointment. Maybe I'll give them another try as they say it could have been an off night. Restaurant Pescatore in Escazu has been great on every visit. |

Sr. Jazz, I see your locale is SW Florida. In Key West I recommend Louie's Backyard. Been there numerous times, but alas not in awhile, pricey but fantastic food and service and the outdoor deck near the ocean is great! http://www.louiesbackyard.com/ |
