I had dinner at Prada last night. It was quite expensive but I loved it. It is a fish place that has all kinds of fish and shellfish. It is located in the new Escazu plaza or whatever they call that new area off the auto pista. My friend had oysters and tuna. I had a Carribian stew (outstanding and loaded with lots of stuff) It was really a whole meal, but I suffered through the machrel main couse so I could report back. lol

I don't think that is the place.

VB spoke of a seafood restaurant located in Avenida Escazu named Prada. The link you provided is for a restaurant called Praha located almost in Escazu centro and has an International, fusion, tapas menu.

In that case, I screwed up and did right--Praha itself looks interesting. Win-win.

Praha is located in the commercial center of the Riverside Condo towers. Place is great. Packed at night with well to do young and middle age (under 40 mostly) Tica lassies. Bring your M class Mercedes, Range Rover or the like and you'll fit in fine. High brow atmosphere, great food.

Would I be able to score If I wear my usual outfit of cargo shorts, white greasy tanktop and black socks with sandals? I don't really want them to valet park my Yugo.

What's up Jaw? I drive my 11 yr. old Honda into their lot and nobody pays attention. Good rule of thumb in latin countries is to keep a low profile. You're welcome to show up as described. (ps a Yugo would never survive on the roads here for more than 2 mos., so I doubt you have a Yugo). Another thing you probably already know, the well to do Ticos can barely stand the presence of you and me. They'll take our money, etc. I've been here 8 years and have yet to be invited into one of their homes. And that's despite being a gentleman and often doing favors, bringing them business, etc.

+1.

Of all the goofy stuff Greengo says, there's one comment that I find to be true: "They hate us but they don't know why" or Greengo gibberish to that effect.

I don't mean outwardly, we know how friendly and courteous most are, I mean when we ain't around.

There's a bit of distance between Cortijo and Riverside my good man, perhaps 2-3 km? Praha is right on the Riverside property, originally in one commercial space, later as there was so much business they expanded Praha into two adjacent commercial spaces. If you are in Tower 2 Riverside, I believe it's the 2nd floor on the elevator and then out the back door. It's street level for the commercial spaces if you are no doubt coming that way.

you are correct....I am very familiar with both Riverside and Praha....

didnt think 2Km was a long distance? if its even that? Cortijo is down the street, around the corner and less than a $2 cab ride

Stop on by 9N if you can sometime...would love to meet a fellow CRT

9N...I am meeting my brother at your place today around 3-4pm. I haven't been there yet. I hope to get to say hello. My brother enjoys his afternoon libations in your establishment so we are meeting there.
