I know this one is a long shot, but does anyone know of any real juice bars and places for raw food in the city. Also interested in finding a bigger organic market than the one by the railroad tracks on Saturday. Thanks.

Not sure of directions here BK, but I'm thinking that would be Jugo Fruits or Cosecha. Jugo Fruits I grabbed fruit smoothies a lot in the mornings and Cosecha I get mixes of fruits and vegetables. I just need to be a little patient. Will have a juicer and food processor soon.

Here's a list of organic farmer's markets all over CR: http://www.thehealthydish.com/2012/06/0 ... osta-rica/
This site also has tons of recipes so when you get that kitchen stuff, no excuses for not eating healthy. << A bit snarky here.

So which vegetarians friendly restaurants are very close to HLH and DR? I have noticed Vishnu and el sarab something but wonder what else is close by. Wont mind taking a cab.
And regarding fruits/ juices - in general, is it safe to eat fruits in SJ? I usualky avoid fruits in Asia but not sure about SJ.

Post subject:  Re: Raw food restaurants and juice bars in San Jose

I have always found it safe eating fruits in Costa Rica. I walked by Vishnu the other day. Just took a gander at the menu and not really all that impressed. It is "healthier" than a lot of options, but not sure most of their juices are what I'm wanting. Have a juicer coming this week so it's all good. Made a connection with an organic farmer's daughter, so will just be buying my fruits and produce in bulk and doing most myself. :D
