Just curious if anyone has eaten here. For the last seven years I have admired this old, quaint tropical style mansion and I see that it has now been made into a restaurante. It certainly is in a convenient location! Wonder if the food is as good as the place looks? Anybody know? PAX, Sluthog |

Si, they have the same menu that the DelRey had, so it's pretty much the same as it was there. The DR now just serves snacks/bar food in the restuarant area... |

IMHO, I thought that their beef fajitas meal is FANTASTIC, easily among the best I have ever had, and I spent many years in Houston and El Paso, where Ma & Pa Mexican restaurants are abundant and are second to none in terms of great Mex food. I thought the pizza was bad, and as any red-blooded male knows, it's damn HARD to make a bad pizza. I guess what I am saying is that it's hit and miss, depending on what you order. Seriously, though, try the fajitas... Ruffnutz |

YO Culinary Cocks: I'v tried it twice and both time was really disappointed. lst time ordered a cheese burger with fires late at night which I know McDonalds would have thrown it the trash can. The second, a steak.......must have been from a steer older than Circus......tough and dry.....refuled to pay for it which did not make the manager happy. Oh well, I got ran out of the DR because I took Huggie in.......may as well make it a double dip. Although the service is OK, they are overpriced and need to advertise for a chef. It was late when I tried to dine there and only a handfull of customers were there. I gave up and had to go to the bar and order enough martini vodkas so I could fill up on olives.....talk about an expensive meal.....burp. |

Circus.....your review does not count as I know that you have completely destroyed all of your tastebuds. So any food you eat basically taste the same. The food is like everything else at the Delrey...it's overprice. The taste is mediocre at best. For restaurant in that area I prefer the Colonial and the Horshoe Casinos food, which are much better and cheaper than the Delrey. Just my humble opinion. |

I had a meal at the Del Mar recently and made the mistake of ordering the fish with some sort of cream sauce. To be frank about it, it was inedible. I do think the hamburgers are decent. Stay away from the fish |

And I thought it was the View from the Rail of the Walk of Shame…… that was so popular at this place. Actually I’ve mentioned before in a long ago post that I first became aware of this Good Burger joint from a fellow Chapter Member in Tampa <Buzz>. Haven’t tried the other fare but they always seem to have a Blackboard Special and if your Lucky you just may find a Tasty Dessert inside the Bar Area. JB PS: Great Place to meet the Season Old Timers... Have had Great Conversations with many guys with 10 - 20 years of CR Mongering under thier belts... Reminds me of a bar I would walk into in the Fl Keys. |

We ate there several times in Jan/05 and we thought the food was very good. Why go somewhere like this and order a hamburger? Prices were very good and a lot cheaper than the Colonial. Service was excellent. I guess everyone sure can have different opinions. I would recommend it.But hey what do i know anyway? |

If the Del Mar was a lot cheaper than the Colonial then it would suggest you did not ask for the "other menu" at the Colonial. |

On Sunday, we had dinner at the Colonial Casino Restaurant, next to Blue Marlin Bar. (We tried for Costa del Sol but it was closed.) I had the best seafood entree that I have ever had, "Sea Bass Colonial". Sauteed sea bass in a white wine sauce with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. It was relatively expensive, I think. The check was about c30,000 for 2. -Orange |

Ding Dong is right. New York Bar has quite a few American classics at a very reasonable price. My favorite is the fish and chips for about 1300-1500 colones. They also make an excellent seafood soup, nice sized serving for about 1000 colones. Zebra |
