Just had a pretty good Italian Dinner a L'Ancora in Barrio Escalante. Eggplant parm was the best I have had so far in SJO and the pizza was pretty good doe CR Standards

agree. that is my favorite italian. little pricey but worth it.

LaDiablo, that seems to be the problem in SJO, in order to get a decent tasting meal you have to pay through the nose.

I prefer Limoncello, nearby, less pricey and great service. La Ancora has a history of padding bills and bait and switch with wine. We all used to go there but they pissed most of the local gringos off over time.
