Once again I am directing you out to Escazu. The name is Pescatore and it's located a few blocks from Multi Plaza on the commercial street which has the HSBC bank building, the Volvo dealership, the BMW dealership. It's almost across the street from BMW, which was Auto Star before (Mercedes).

This place is way, way better than any seafood place I've found here.

A lunch companion and I ran up a $100 tab in total for 4 glasses of wine, splitting a grilled octopus appetizer, a fish entree each and splitting a dessert. But it was well worth it. He gets the fish delivered fresh about three times a week. The owner Mike is from California and is a successful entrepreneur here in the country over 15 years.

100 bucks for lunch is a bit much don't ya think. Must have been an expensive wine. CR is beginning to look more and more like home all the time.

For what I save on real estate taxes and electricity, I can afford to splurge once in a while on a decent meal. I can also show you a good Tico place for casados in Escazu where lunch costs me 2100 colones. And I eat there twice a week.

Now if we want to talk about big spenders on poooosie, let's talk to Hank.

Last night I went again. Skipped the wine, just some great good sized portion of fresh corvina, perlligrino water and dessert. Total bill was 15K colones, tax and tip. Every seat inside was taken and a few outside. All Ticos. Monday I'll be back to Amigos Soda in Escazu for a Tico style caso for lunch.
