Been going to a little spot recently that is between the INS building and Criollitas on the same side as Criollitas. I don't see a name on the outside. If you like to get a good tico breakfast to start the day you can't beat it. Big portion of pinto, two eggs, and bread. Cafe con leche that is really a capuchino. The cost is 1700 colones. And it comes so quick, I hardly get my paper open before the food is there. |

Yeah I have been there...good food but La Criolatta's seems to get the business...I decided to get the traditional breakfast there one day...I guess it was good for a local...I am not saying the place is bad......it is good....I have just had better luck at La Criolatta's......but I would go there again.....between the two places...great local food |

It's nothing spectacular, simple gallo pinto. But I hate paying a ridiculous amount for this simple breakfast in some spots. Just a good bang for the buck so to speak. I would say the coffee is very good for the price. Haven't had anything else there other than a couple of simple pastries so don't know much about the other food. |

I often stop there for a coffee and cake, didn't know they did breakfast, will check it out. For me, the best Americanized breakfast is the Colonial. Always quiet there, good to sit by the window and watch the workers heading past to the DR. |

On a related note, can you get beer to go at the tienda in the front of Criolitas now? That was a staple for me some time ago but they stopped it as of my last visit. I really need to go back. Hopefully very soon. |
