I've ventured to Jaco to check it out for a few days... I was going to stay at Carlita's, but based on the recommendation from a long-time CRT member, I am staying at the Hotel Poseidon... The main reason for staying here is that it's 1/2 block from the beach and the chef...

Last night I had the grilled yellow fin tuna steak... When it arrived, I was positive that I could not finish it as the serving was massive... The tuna steak was 1.5" thick and covered half the plate... This was accompanied by rice, mashed potatoes, stir-fried mixed veggies and french bread... I struggled to finish it, but was not about to leave any as it was that good...

Without a doubt, this was the best tuna steak that I have ever stuck a tooth in... Practically orgasmic... It was so good that I will have it again tonight... I highly recommend this restaurant...

haha Just ate at the Taco Bar last night. Go there a couple of times a week to get my veggie fix in the salad bar. Good stuff. Actually, the gourmet pizza is good too. Although ya gotta have some of my smoked ribs too while you're here... :D

Since we rarely get decent chica pics from CR anymore could someone please post a pic of that mouth-watering orgasmic tuna steak?

I do enjoy certain things at the Taco Bar, but I can't say that I would recommend the tuna steak there. Sorry to hear you got sick...

Where is the Taco Bar located? Is it on the primary through street or one of the side streets?

When I clicked on the link under location it says COMING SOON.

I neglected to include in the OP the fact that brother Thirdworld was able to secure the CRT discount for me at the Poseidon... Nice guy and provided a lot of insight into life in the slow lane around Jaco...

Sorry if anyone became ill on the Tuna Steak... Everyone knows that kitchens are sometimes 'on' and sometimes not... I got lucky as it was excellent each time I got it...

For my main man Brother DiegoC and others--here's their blogsite (nice music, no?), though as said, no location data--it's 1/2 block off the main drag:
http://tacobar.info/

Though the Hotel Poseidon itself has a good restaurant and, on the 3rd floor, a sportsbar. Here's more on that:

About as subtle as a brick, aren't I?

Is the Hotel Poseidon right on the beach? From the map on the link it appears to be close but not directly facing the beach. In other words you have to walk a little down the road to get to the beach. Is that correct or did I misread the map?

I forgot, how much is the CRT discount? Does the additional guest fee apply to CRT members?

Can't really help on the location but--10% discount and no Chica fee if booked through ThirdWorld--he runs a surf shop there, has excellent smoked ribs as provender (prior notice please) and is our Point of Contact with the hotel.
