Post subject:  Is Machu Pichu a rip-off joint?

On my last visit, I was with my brother. We met up with some chicas at the SL and decided to go out to eat. They talked up Machu Pichu and, since I had heard the name before, I was game. The place was nice enough, food was pretty good but the girls were ordering up a storm; appetizers, drinks, bottled water, expensive meals, deserts. My bro and I were fairly toasted and having a great time. The bill came and it was much more than I thought it would be.

I have thought about it for several months and I am wondering if the girls were getting a kick back. They seemed to know the waiters.

It wasn't a huge financial loss but I hate the idea of being gamed.

Nah, no kickback..those greedy motherfuckers were just fleecing you a little bit themselves. A part of me says I can't blame them, while the other part of me thinks it's phucked'up.

I remember eating there for a birthday dinner and it was similar to what you describe only it was wine.. The chicas in our case had nothing to do with it. To that end, I enjoyed my meal, but reminded myself if I return, to tell them no wine..

I ate there with my wingman and a couple of chicas and came away with the same impression.

Haven't there been mentioned other Peruvian restaurants that serve equally good food? I'm thinking Inka Real but surely there are others.

Next time, you'll know that when you're "fairly toasted" not to allow working girls to order up a storm. Many of them will take advantage of you as much as you allow them to.

Orange......you can't always be on top of things all of the time.

My everyday conservative life is about being in control and watching costs.

When I am in Costa Rica and have a sexy, beautiful woman sitting in my lap at dinner (grabbing my crotch), have a more than a few drinks under my belt, things don't always go as normal. Sometimes you just have to say phuck it and let things roll

I agree, but part having that fun, is to not come on a forum and ask if a place is a rip-off joint, simply because you lost control. :P

But don't dwell on that, it happens to everybody. One night a few years ago, we closed Pantera Rosa with a few CRT's. When I realized how much I spent (not a tab, drink by drink, and dance by dance), it was almost $300. But at least I got laid a few times. In the states, I would've left with blue balls.

If you can't take constructive criticism, don't post.

(Btw, you will never be a master monger.)

Mr. Orange. Yes, you are right. I cannot take constructive criticism. And, if I cannot take criticism from large-brained super master monger such as you, I should not post.

You have also correctly noted that I will never achieve the incredible super-monger status that you have obtained.

You don't have to call me Mister. We aren't that formal 'round here. It feels good to be right, thank you for acknowledging it. And it's good that you can realize your short-comings. Work on it. And I agree with your last sentence too.

"Large-brained super master monger" out

Admin, is that too long to be a handle?

What is curious about this exchange are the PM's I have gotten from other members who are getting a kick out of this. The sentiment is that they either have stopped posting or rarely post. Why would one want to spar with some dick he doesn't even know.

There is a small group of a$$holes on this forum that ruin it for the rest of us. I guess this group and every group has got a few. They always have their opinion and that opinion is usually a ball busting opinion. They have said and done it all and that's that.

In the overall scope of things, Orange's posts weren't that bad, I've seen a lot worse.

OK, let em rip.....I'm out.
