Don't even have to do that. Just take the elevator to the Mirador restaurant in the Aurola Holiday Inn.

Try google earth or the view from your airplane as it descends into SJO on a clear day when the view is green and lush.

Capitol Grille on The White House in Escazu has a breathtaking city view. And great climate too.

There are a bunch of restaurants in the hills of Escazu with a great view. As mentioned in another thread besides the Capital Grille there are the Hotel Pico Blanco (same view as the CG at less then half the price) Tiquicia and a little more west Le Monestre and La Luz.

Hank, Try the lower level at the Monestary, up in the hills above Escazu. Go to the Paco shopping center, then up the hill. The White House has cut back on their staff as of the 15th of this month, so it'll be interesting to see how the quality goes. You can bring a chica to Tequecia, on Thursday evenings there's a free dance show. Nothing like an Tango India show. Just clean stuff.

Hey Hank,

Try one of these two places. I like them both. In fact I'm headed to Mirador Ram Luna tomorrow (wed) for dinner for my birthday. Wish you where here to celebrate it with me. :)

Mirador Ram Luna in Asseri is very good and less pricey. And just down the road is Donde Aceda (sp); excellent food, low price but much less atmosphere.

Both have excellent views of the valley.

The time to go to Tequicia is at night. Greengo, lo siento, but don't advise our brother to consider walking part of the way, not when he could take a cab from Escazu centro or even San Antonio.
