My GF and I dined at a number of restaurants in the San Jose area on my recent trip. My favorite was Ristorante Italiano L’ Ancora, which is a 5-7 minute taxi ride from the gulch. It has a tranquillo ambiance, excellent food, reasonable prices, and a 15% CRT-VIP discount.

We had the best anti-pasta marisco I have ever eaten, pasta with four cheeses, grilled salmon with herbs in white sauce, and two glasses of white wine each for only about 15,000 colones ($34).

You owe it to yourself to try this place.
