The Muse in Escazu is worth a look.

Great service, clean, beautiful spot, good wine list, excellent food, my only gripe would be the deserts, but can live with it. New topas menu and club opening up in a few weeks under the restaurant called "cava". Great date spot and beautiful hotel. Actually, it was kind of a shock a K-Hotel is here which is a positive since I enjoy them in the states. Will go back again in a few weeks and try some more of the menu.

The Beacon Escazú - San José, Costa Rica
50 mts Oeste de las oficinas de A&A frente a Pinturas Sur
Escazú, San José, Costa Rica
P: (506) 2228-3110

Enjoy.

Thanks for the post. I'm always looking for something new and good. That includes chicas as well as new restaurants. The Beacon Hotel is a little easier to find if you use the San Miguel church in Escazu centro as a reference point. From the south side of the church, proceed west (against the one way traffic) for about 150 yards from the church. It's on your left, before the construction across a small stream which has closed the street.

Aspensam, great info! :D

Q: How are the prices? Also, what menu items did you try? TIA

El- I found the prices reasonable, but that's subjective. I tried 6 menu items that night and really need to go back to try more. I was impressed with the wine selection more because they had what I like. The place is beautiful and they are opening up a lunge below called "caca". For some of us that miss high end restaurants in the states this is close. I have actually stayed at some K hotels in the US and Asia and liked them all.

Fly- Good instructions.

Aspen ................. If you miss that high end feel of a place, go check out Misala at Paco in Escazu. It occupies the space where Tre Fretelli was before. Stunning decor, pricey drinks, food is very good but on the light side as far as portions go. It's worth a visit. Jeff, the manager was previously in charge of food at the White House before coming over. On a couple occasions I was offered a complimentary cocktail after I bought the first one. They have a very elegant private dining room if you have a party of perhaps 8 who want an extra fancy experience. In the same shopping center is Essentia, has a nice wine selection, larger portions, excellent meals, again a trendy kind of place that is a bit unual for here. Afterwards, go to people watch and have coffee outdoors at Il Panino which is next door to Misala.

Fly, thanks man, i have been to Misala the second week it was open and enjoyed it, kind of shocked a place like that is here. I appreciate the insight into Jeff who seems like a great guy. Never ate at Essentia so I think that will be my next stop. love wine, but hate the prices here...lol.
