I have read all the reviews and the more I read the more confused I get. I am travelling alone and want to know the best places within walking distance to the HDR. Will be there 3 days so 3 brkfast, lunch, and dinner options are what I am hoping for. I like to leave the hotel and walk 2-3 blocks and know that where I am eating has decent food. Thanks in advance. |

There is a mini mall about a block and a half down the street that has a good seafood place...and cheap. There are also numerous options on the way to the Mercado Central. You'll adjust in about five minutes. Enjoy. |

Breakfast outside at the Hotel Grand Costa Rica, overlooking the Theatro National is always a good take. Get there around 8:30 - 9am to view all the fair maidens on their way to work. |

The options for dining within walking distance of HDR are almost too numerous to list. Take a look at the CRT VIP map. The popular locations are all on the map. HDR is in downtown SJ, within a few blocks of the Plaza de la Cultura so everything downtown is practically at your doorstep. For a 3 day trip you will only have oportunity to scratch the surface of what is available. |
