I'm a coffee junkie. Not a coffee snob, but I really do like Costa Rican coffee. Sadly, I can only travel to C.R. about once a year, and the coffee I can bring back with me usually doesn't last very long. I especially like Volio coffee. I also like to try flavors that I haven't yet tried... Santos, Terrazu, Brit Tres Reyes etc. Well, I found a source. And even with the ridiculously high shipping, the cost per pound on my favorite coffees is still less than what I'd pay for a pound of Folger's here. http://www.ticoshopping.com Beware! Some of their merchandise is WA-A-A-A-AAAAY overpriced. Sorpresa jerseys for $65.00, for example. Centennario Commemorativo for something like $32.00/bottle...and this is *before* shipping. I think they're selling 24 packs of Imperial for $24.00... I'll have to go back and check. However, the coffee is a pretty good deal, if you can't get to C.R. to buy it yourself! |

Aside from the availability, how are his prices? I'll check it out. |

I admit, I am a coffee snob. I have consumed a Blue Mountain/Kona blend for years and always thought Tico coffee to be okay. I have sampled most brands and found some are definitely better than others. Well, that was until a friend turned me on to Dota brand coffee. IMHO, It is thee best coffee in el mundo. Bar none. Try it, you will not be disappointed. Here is a link: http://www.costaricacoffeeshop.com/shop ... ota+Coffee |

Paco, I am not sure where it is available, but I will find out and let you know. I get it in San Isidro at the Mega Super, so maybe there in SJO? I know Mas x Menos does not carry it. Kinda hard to find. |

I know Super Sarettos in Escazu has it and I think I have seen it in Auto Mercado. It also is usually available in many souvenir shops and the artisan market near Mas x Menos on Avenida Central. The souvenir shop and the market charge more then the super markets. |

gonna have to do some research on the current price but here is what I remember. I live and work in Guanacaste. I have seen the Cafe Britt displays in Auto Mercado and a few other locations. They offer several packages including one that is 10 pounds of coffees of your choice and includes shipping and import taxes for about $125. don't have time to help find the web site but look for a cafe britt web site. |

I normally pay about 1400 Colones for the 1 pound bag at my Guadalupe supermercado so $ 3.82 is maybe a buck more a bag... Good find EL C... |
