Am I correct in assuming this is in the vicinity of Dos Gringos? Is this a new place? |

Zebra, I think that might be the wrong direction. My take on the directions would put you going past Colonial, then hanging a right. Passing by Hotel Asia (the hourly hotel mentioned). Their is a restaurant that's a local hangout. Never been but know of where he speaks. Next time I'll bring "my favorite whore." ![]() dapanz1 |

Dapanz, Yeah.....I think I know the place you're referring to. It sits on the corner of Central Avenida. Sort of a "fast food looking place," though I don't remember the name of it. I always wanted to try the chicken there, but never got around to it. You're prabably right about the directions. What through me off was his mention of the "side door of the Del Rey." Zebra |

I know the place too, it's on the corner of Ave. Central (north side) and Calle 11 (west side), have walked past it many times as well as seeing it while waiting for the Ruta 2 Sabana Cementario bus at the stop across the street. I've occasionally thought about going there, but always went to McD's or KFC instead. ![]() |

That is A&S chicken. It is a typical fact food restaurant and they have outlets all around San Jose. IMHO they have the best fried chicken of any chicken place. |

The place some of you seemed to think was being mentioned nearer to the Hotel Asia is Los Condes. Bocas aren't bad, but you are likely to get drooled on by the drunk next to you. I expect that if you grab a table like I used to do in Club 1930 for lunch it would be fine, but sitting at the bar was a mistake. I haven't been there often though so it might have been an isolated experience. For that matter I wasn't thrilled with Club 1930 in the evening but ate lunch there often when I used to stay at the Prez 5-8 years ago. |

Took the words right out of my mouth, I wish we had this shit in the States. I dropped my ladyfriend off last night and was dying of hunger, was rather pleasantly surprised by the juicy, LIGHTLY breaded chicken in this joint and their excellent honey sauce. Nice value, good quality, clean and good service for fast food. Open 24 hours is always a plus! |

Sadly Mariscar no longer does the rotisserie chicken over coffee wood. I went to Campesino Pollo which was fine, but SJ is giving me sticker shock. It is amazing how much things have gone up over the last 12 years. For years it just went up in colones, but now it is in dollars too. |

![]() Mariscar started as a rotisserie chicken place if they no longer do that what kind of restaurant is it now? As far as end of an era Pollo Campesino has been there since at least 1992. Long before Mariscar opened. |
