Ate at a restaurant within walking distance of SL. Two story building. Little fish pool out front. You could eat inside or on a veranda. Very busy. Overlooked a hostel. Can't remember the name. Went there with BangBang and Phoenix Rising and a few others. Anyone help? The alzheimers is kicking the hell out of me. |

Cafe Mundo maybe? Although I don't remember a fish pool out front. Good food though! |

Graywolf69 - 911 Driver I can really identify with that Alzheimer statement; cannot figure out where you are talking about. Is that the one on the corner? In other words, if you turn right coming out of SL, walk to the corner, turn left and walk to the next corner? |

Yep, Cafe Mundo, and I can't figure out why folks don't fall through the little grate into the mini goldfish pond in the dark. |

Diego, your navigation system is correct that is Mundo..... Ext SL door, go one half block to the right. Turn left at the corner, and walk one block to the corner. There you are, entrance on the left at the corner, and no sign out front. Looks like a nice 100 year old house. Great pizza, pasta etc. Wine is in small glasses though |

If you want to take a shortcut especially with a chica and high heels, take the street going to the La Amistad hotel and between the SL and La Amistad is a open parking garage. There is an entrance at the end of the parking center that leads directly to Café Mundo. IMHO – a shorter distance to travel. |

thanks all that's it. If can't get there with those directions I'm in trouble. Of course, if I'm home and go somewhere I have to drop crumbs on the way there. That's so I can find my way home. If the birds eat them, I'm out of luck. |

Lunch prices range from $6 for the daily cassado to $ 12 for ala carte, dinner avg. per person is approx. $ 18 before alcohol. |

I went to the Cafe Mundo this morning only to find out it doesn't open until 11:00 AM. Good directions, especially the tip on going through the parking lot to the rear of it. I wound up at the 3rd floor restaurant of a tiny little hotel called Maragato. It is behind the Gran Hotel Costa Rica. Fruit plate, pinto and two eggs any style, toast, jelly, orange juice, and coffee for 1500 colones. |

I believe the grilled fillet mignon is $8000c (less than $16). Comes with two nice medallions wrapped in bacon and prepared very well, steamed veggies and whipped baked potato, bread with spiced olive oil. An excellent meal. |

Dude, that and the shrimp salad are my favorites. I will hit that again in 24 days. |

I believe the awning in front of Cafe Mundo has Johnnie Walker written on it . And Cafe Mundo is written on the door although not very noticable unless you look close. |
