You wont see any chili cook off contest in Costa Rica.
If you want it done right do it yourself.
There are plenty of places to rent, so open your chili place and we will come eat your chili.

Joe B's is good but not great.
Papi's is number 2
Chubbs is good but too salty
Poas Bar has been good on some days.
Hooters is good but too expensive and no crackers

haha Nice! I forgot what was going on last year, but I missed it. Have good friends living there and I go there when I can. I will make it this year for sure.

My favorite in the estados. I pulled a good for nothing at our chili cook off, bought ten cartons of it and entered. I won 3rd. I admitted at the end and got buzzed by everyone and lost my free drink prize and 4th took my place, but there were about 10 entries and about 50 people judging.

I like it.....hot sauce and crackers offered with the chili, as well.

Had a good chifrijo at Chubbs on Saturday. Will likely end up doing a pot of chili myself, although will keep Wendy's in mind. I like theirs.
