Sorry to slam a sponsor, but these guys deserve it.

First of all, my friend presented his CRT card and they said "We don't offer that discount anymore". Later, I come here to this site and see that they do (supposedly). But never mind their lousy 10% off deal... That's not even why I'm writing this complaint. They could offer me 75% off, and I'd never eat there again!

The real problem here is the food:
Yecchhh!

This is not based on just one meal. Actually I ate there last year, I had nachos or some other Mexican dish, and it was horrible. I swore I'd never eat there again.

This year I went with my friend and as we were on our way to another place to eat, he said, "How about that place?" I said, "No, it's lousy". He said, "Well, it looks okay..." and he said he had a taste for Mexican food, so I said, "Well, okay, I guess we can give it another try. And you can get a discount there with your card."

So, I had enchiladas this time, and he had some pasta dish even though he had gone in there to get Mexican food.

Well, my enchiladas were not even close to good. They were almost inedible! Get this: they use something like CHEESE WHIZ as the cheese. It was almost a joke, it was so bad. I mean, really - what self-respecting restaurant would use cheese-whiz for ANYthing, other than maybe to catch mice?!

And my friend's Italian dish was also horrible. He said it was spiced all wrong, and it repeated on him all night long.

I highly recommend NOT going to Dos Gringos (across from the Morazan) even if they do really honor their 10% discount, which they don't. Believe me, you will regret eating there, it's quite possible THE WORST FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD, ANYWHERE!

I haven't eaten there since the restaurant changed hands. During my first few trips, I enjoyed many good meals there when it was "Faros." Thanks, for the heads-up..."caveat emptor" will be in the back of my mind if I choose to eat there.

I have to concur with BlueDevil.....I had many good meals there when it was FARO'S. The manager, Javier, who used to be at FARO'S, is now at THE GARDENS [or at least he was last July].

FARO'S regulars may also remember the beautiful Hazel that used to work behind the counter.....definitely U.S. model material. :D I have no idea where she is now.

Thanks for the advice! I passed that place often, but never went inside.

i met the guy they are talking about "javier' at the gardens and he made our visit there ..great service and we enjoyed his concerns for gringos having a good time...hey i like it when someone understands the service bussiness as it (sad to say) becoming a lost skill ...i slipped him a extra 10.00 bucks and i said thanks i enjoyed your service .....you think i gave him 50.00 the way he acted ....the food was ok ..but now i will swear by that place ...my friend told once he left the other place ...everything went to shit.....

I agree with all the foregoing, took a chica there the other night just because it was handy - bad idea. They even managed to ruin the nachos (which takes some doing). At least the waitresses were nice. But still a good place to avoid. FWIW
