Post subject:  Bottled water in the Gulch ???
On my first trip the only place I found cheap bottled water was at the KFC right next to the hotel presidente. Cost was 250 colones for a 16 ounce bottle. That comes to about 60 cents a bottle which is cheap. Does anyone know of someplace cheaper in the Gulch that sells cheaper bottled water ?

There is a place about 60 miles from San Jose that sells used water....for 50 cents per 16 oz bottle. It is aged in oak buckets for at least 2-3 hours. Rumor has it that it is pumped directly from the 4th floor of the Del Rey.

Actually Joe any Of the local markets or mercados within a block or two from the prez have all types of everyday items inexpensive per US standards including bottled water, juices, etc.
You will fine the larger bottles of bottled water are of better price value then the 12 or 16 oz bottles.

I usually drink the tap water in SJO, so I really did not look for it, but I would expect the MAS X MENOS super market to have anything like that at much lower prices. The closest one to the gulch is on Av Central. Walk out of the Prez and turn right. Walk about 3 blocks and it is on the left side of Av Central. Hope this will help.

:lol: :lol: :lol: Piratemorgan....dude...I did't think you have a sense of humor. I stand corrected.

Tunaman is correct..... probably the cheapest place to buy some bottled water is at MAS X MENOS grocery store. This is where I always go to stock up on my supplies of snacks, sodas, Gatorade and water.
