Being a person who enjoys good Chinese food, I was pleasantly surprised this afternoon while sitting at the Hotel Castillo patio bar and noticed a chica friend of mine enjoying some Chinese fried rice which looked very similar to what I'm used to getting in the states. I asked her where she got it and she said the JO JO CHINESE RESTAURANT [pronounced HO HO] located on the street beside the Holiday Inn. This evening, I walked over there and ordered the "House Special Fried Rice." It contained shrimp and chicken and was delicious. The "small size" plate was only 1200 colones, though a larger size is available for 2300 colones, I met the owner, a young Chinese man who spoke excellent English. He told me he has been located there for 14 years. Of course, at this point I cannot recommend the other food on the menu, as this was my first visit there, but I certainly will go back for more fried rice.
