El Padrino (The Godfather) is a new restaurant just opened in the Pavas area. White table cloth nice quiet and slow. Pictures of the Godfather adorn the walls. Waiters in ties and their presence is there but not overbearing. They do not rush you (plan on a dining experience of 90 minutes) and everything is prepared fresh and individual. First came the bread (home made), butter and oil and vinegar. I asked to have some butter that was not kept in the freezer. (Only complaint) My date and I shared an app of thinly sliced salmon in lemon. (Excellent) I ordered their Pasta seafood excellent, full of clams mussels and a variety of seafood along with crabs in a homemade tomato sauce that did not originate from catsup but from fresh tomatoes and thickened from slow simmering. The pasta was home made, cooked to perfection and excellent. Too much for one person, next time will share with someone. Took more than half home with me but was excellent the next day in the microwave
My date ordered a filet (Lomita) cooked medium with roasted vegs. Served sizzling on the plate and cooked with a pink center. Cut with a butter knife No drinks and the bill was $45.00. Excellent service and food Best Italian I have had here in San Jose and remember, I’m from Italy. Will love to repeat with some fellow brothers sometime
