There was an seafood restaurant in San Jose that VIP Discounts. They had 3 smal lobster tails on the menu and a Whole Fish.

I can't remember the name but the food was good and inexpensive. Can someone tell me the name and do they still offer VIP Discounts?

What other restaurant would you recommend that serves Lobster and other great seafood?

La Princesa Marina......3 locations. Easiest one to get to from the Gultch is the one located near Parque Sabana. Good seafood, reasonably priced with good atmosphere and service.

Also...I was told that Dos Gringos, one block from the Del Rey was serving whole fish. It was on my "to do" list last June/July, but never got around to it.

Agree with Zebra's comments on La Princesa Marina concerning the food and service. Not sure I would agree concerning atmosphere as it is a no frills kind of place without any ambiance but will take good food & good service at a reasonable price over atmosphere any day.

No CRT discount but prices are so reasonable that is not a problem.

Pescado entero frito is sometimes available at the 1930 club. This is NOT a fine dining experience but is fine for lunch. It is a step up from Los Condes in ambiance and usually has some expat pensionados at the tables.

Every time I go to La Princesa Marina, I feel like I am stealing the food because it is so cheap for decent seafood--no frills. If CRT arranged a discount, I would live there, however, it is sooo cheap as it is that I always stop by once every trip

I'd concur with the comments that PM's food is great for the price. Big bang for the colon, so to speak.

I have only been to the one near Sabana park once, and my tica said their location near San Pedro has better interior than the others. Anyway, for their price, what to complain ?

While I was there, there were quite a few tables with foreigners. Waiters spoke ok English. The Octopus was very good.

We used to have a VIP Discount there. I went in 2004, with a wingman and 2 Ticas, We had drinks and ate very well for about 35USD total.

I couldn't believe the bill was soo inexpensive. I will try it again next week.

I have been going to the Princessa Marina for many years and do not know of them ever having a CRT discount. Perhaps Admin1 can settle that question.

Is very easy for 2 guys and two chicas to dine very well there for $35.00 without any kind of discount.

Enjoy your return next week :D

I could swear, I remember giving them my VIP card for a discount, but I could be wrong.

How about Admin 1? Was PM ever on the VIP Discount List.

Princessa Marina without a doubt the best value in Costa Rica.
Incredible food, cheap as hell, good service, minimal ambiance (but who cares, she is gonna phuck you anyway)

Nothing beats Princessa Marina for quality/value in San Jose for seafood unless it's a BBBJCIM! Nothing like fresh young hungry snapper!
