Has anybody eaten at this place? I have seen it listed but have not had a chance to try it out. Whappin' Cuisine: COSTA RICAN, CARIBBEAN Hours: Mon-Sat noon-3pm and 6-11pm Location: Barrio Escalante, (200m (656 ft.) east of El Farolito), San Pedro/Los Yoses Phone: 283-1480 Prices: Main courses $4-$10 You don't have to go to Limón or Cahuita to get good home-cooked Caribbean food anymore. While they seldom have rondon, you can always get the classic rice and beans cooked in coconut milk, as well as a range of fish and chicken dishes from the coastal region. There's a small bar at the entrance and some simple tables spread around the restaurant, with an alcove here and there. Everything is very simple and the prices are quite reasonable. After a dinner of fried red snapper, with rice, beans, and patacones, the only letdown is that the beach is some 4 hours away. |

CR: I pass this place a couple of nights a week on my way home.. Bascially looks like an ouside bar in Key West with a couple of stools outside and a an open air non-pretentious type dining room.. I personally have not eaten there, but neighbors swear bye it.. at least that is what I can undertand they are saying in my 1/2 broken Spainsh, though it is improving daily. Will get you an update. |
