Mirador Ram Luna in the hills above Aserrí is a nice alternative to La Monastere with about 20-25 minutes outside the downtown area, and not as expensive with a breathtaking view to book....

The food is authentic, the atmosphere is elegant and the view is breathtakingly amazing. Your Ticas or lady of choice will feel they have the stars at their feet as they enjoy a deliciously authentic Costa Rican dinner above a vast sea of lights twinkling in the valley below.

If you go and if you are there during the week, every Wednesday night, the Ram Luna Restaurant becomes a l Costa Rican street festival with delicious and authentic dishes arranged into an extravagant dinner buffet for a memorable evening named “Tierra Tica,” complete with live music, typical dancing and other traditional Costa Rican festivities.

I have not been there in some time and just writing about this place makes me want to go immediately. I forgot how many good meals I have had there and how much fun the WED night party was. I am wondering if they still do it, so I'll be following up on this in the near future.

This is a great way to impress the non-pro, or semi as most Hard Core ladies just would not understand how good this place really is.

Reservations required, and all major credit cards accepted.

Would reccomend you have your driver wait for you during dinner as getting one back up there at night can be a pain in the ass.... Like Monastare, dry season is the best time with the best views.

I was there on the Wednesday night prior to this past Thanksgiving and yes they do still have their Tierra Tica Night. It is an all you can eat and drink buffet of traditional CR food and beverages, a marimba band, a dance troupe in colorful costumes, a fireworks show and of course the beautiful view. All for $28pp tax included.

Ram Luna is really great. Wednesday night is still Tierra Tica night, as of February of this year. The food is excellent, Lots of gourmet local fare. The Wednesday night crowd is almost exclusively tourists. If you like a few cocktails, then this is your place, as it is one price all-you-can-eat.and.drink.
