Last night I went to this upscale restaurant in San Pedro.It had been recommended to me by a few members here as being expensive but the best steaks in CR. There were four of us.We shared 2 bottles of wine which were $25 each. We each had an appetiser and dinner.Our bill came to $50 each. The restaurant was very nice.The service was wonderful and equal US standards. You MMen would love taking your special chica there. The food was very good EXCEPT the famous (and expensive..$35 ala carte) Omaha steaks SUCKED. My steak was grissly and all dried out even though it was cooked medium rare. One friend had a corvina dish that he liked very much.Another had a spinich linguine dish that he liked. The two of us with the steaks hated them. I was surprised since that is what was recommended to me.They had all kinds of steaks from the US,CR,and Chile so steaks are obviously their specialty. So my recommendation is that if you are looking for a fine dining experience in a restaurant with nice ambiance try Jurgens BUT DON'T ORDER THE STEAK.

So, you finally made it there. Thanks for the tip about the stakes VB, I'll try the corvina.

I had a Tica favorita one time tell me that Jurgens was one of the best restauarnts in San Jose. It's in Barrio Dent, not too far from the Mall de San Pedro. It's actually in the Hotel Jade, if I'm not mistaken.
