Either you are not speaking accurately for the owner or he is a poor businessman. Word of mouth, and that what comments made in a forum are, have a greater impact then all the advertising any business can do. Positive comments lead to increased traffic and negative comments cause some who would give a place a try to decide not to.

I believe this may be the first mention of this venue (and it's a good reason to visit it). Here's more on this: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=35455&p=400398&hilit=sala#p400398

OK Chubbs Shill, you got it. I will also recommend that other brothers stay away from that dump because to quote you; 'the main man doesn't give a crap about a customer who complains" You must be dense if you think "the main man" does not care what a 20k member forum of dollar spending gringos (that spend their money primarily at locations in the gulch) think about his roach motel. 8) 8)

I called this Chubbs asshole out awhile ago. Chubbs suck. Terrible food, uncomfortable atmosphere, and full of douchebags. Happy everybody now agrees.

Yup and I am sure the loser owner of that dump will be thrilled to know that his buddy,(who I bet is the cook or bar back) that I have named "The Chubbs Shill" is chasing what few customers he had away. :D I bet we could do a count down to the days til he closes up shop. :D

There is only one good Sports Bar in the Gulch and that is the SL :!: :!:

This "Loser" As You Call Me, Would Like You To Come Down To My "Dump" And Talk With Me Direct About All This Bad Mouthing. Not Sure What I Did To Deserve All This. Also, I Don't Even Know Who Frank Is. Just So You Know, I Will NOT Be Closing Anytime Soon. Enjoy The Sportsman, I Agree It Is A Great Place.

Nope, I have officially promised never to return to your restaurant. I suggest that you read all your buddies posts. All the guy did was shill for Chubbs and then attack anyone who had anything negative to say about your place. I had visited and thought the place had potential, but all I got from posting was attacked by the Chubbs Shill. He claimed you don't give a shit what your customers think. If that is the case, then you don't deserve to be in business. If that is not, please clarify. BTW, go back and read my posts on your restaurant; I had some constructive criticism and your buddy told me that I was wrong, the prices are fair and to take a hike. That is about the time your place became a dump; right after your buddy started the personal attacks.

I am pretty sure that if I posted something negative about my favorite sports bar in the Tampa Bay area, (whose prices are better than your's BTW) I doubt the owner would be so enraged as to imply he wanted to get into a fight over it. :D

Wasn't gonna post, but good response by Chubbs and don't wanna penalize a business because some nimrod with some imaginary affiliation says some stupid shit. I know a bit about food costs, not a kitchen expert. Suppliers are expensive down here. Most restaurants are trying to run around a 32-35% food cost. I know that the two spots where I eat burgers in Jaco I will pay more like 4500 colones, and it comes with fries. All that means is time to get out the grill.. :D In all sincerity, I don't know a "good" burger that is also cheap. Edible, yes, good, no...

Me neither, all my negativity about the place was because the Shill kept on surfacing and insulting anyone who didn't take him at his word (based on all 10 of his posts) about Chubbs. :D

The owner and Manager of Chubb's are both good guys. I have no idea who the guy posting is. TW is correct 3,500 for a burger and fries if it is a large american style burger is about right. Ours is 3,800 colones after taxes and service charge. I have only eaten twice at Chubbs and both items were good. The TV set up is good and the beer specials look good.

I don't understand this negativity about Chubbs either. I've been there twice to watch some sports, have a few drinks, & eat some bar food & I was happy on all 3 counts. Sometimes you just wanna relax & watch some sports without being surrounded by hookers & Chubbs is a good place to do it. And Daniella the waitress-ooh la la!

Personally, I like Chubbs and I think it's a nice change-of-pace kind of place. Good atmosphere, great place to chill out, and plenty of TV's. I don't think their prices are out of line. Their burgers are very good, and their fish sandwich was outstanding. I look forward to stopping there every time I'm in SJO, and wish them continued success.

MG
