I have had it in DR (or across the street) and it has never come with any "special sauce". They usually give you ketchup and mayo in packets if you want to add it. Ticos usually eat ceviche with mayo, I've never seen anybody eat it with ketchup.

There is a small soda in Mercado Central that only serves ceviche and sopa de pescado, very good, fresh and cheap. Small ceviche is $3.

Where is the exact location of the place?

Thanx

Just made the best Ceviche myself last weekend with Yellowtail Snapper. The milder the fish the better.

Good tip from Brother DRD. Makes sense--the less fishy-tasting the fish, the more it will absorb and transmit the marinade.

Las Palmas near New Fantasy has awesome ceviche.. I cant wait to eat there again. It may take 30 minutes to get your food but the ceviche is worth the wait.

I have never heard of putting mayo or ketchup on ceviche. That sounds disgusting. What is the difference with Peruvian-style ceviche? I love ceviche but prefer it from a reputable restaurant just like I prefer sushi because you can get bad ceviche and sushi.

Ticos usually eat with mayo, not ketchup.

Don't knock til you have tried it. Reason being is that I don't normally like a lot of fish, but ceviche, especially made with corvina is very clean tasting and a great appetizer with hot sauce and crackers. :D :D
