I agree. It's one of my favorites too.

I think the place with the soccer pictures on the wall is much better.

This place is awesome! Loved the seafood soup and the other things guys were getting also looked very good. I tried to go back on my last day (a Monday), but they were closed. It was about 4:15, so I don't know if they always close that early or what.

My wingman, Wingnut, took me to lunch there last week in the early afternoon. I was in awe of the vast selection offered on the menu. My bowl of Sopa Marisco was delicious...just like the soda's name, "Delicias." I couldn't help myself from eyeing up the other entrees being shuttled out to other patrons...I may need to come back and try them all!

I really enjoy the atmosphere of a tico soda/restaurant. Delicias del Peru certainly fits that mold. I find the service here to be friendly, responsive and clean. I wonder if they will prepare BYOC (Bring Your Own Catch) the way other larger restaurants do.

AJ,
I have their business card right here. The hours are 11am-4pm Monday-Saturday, so yes they were already closed at 4:15.

I tried this place over Mem Day weekend too. We ate there twice that weekend, and it was great. I had the same dish (Fried Fish w/ tartar sauce) both times. I recommend it. It's not big or fancy, but that's not important to me when dining out. The food is good, the service is good, and the prices are good.

Thanks Orange, that will come in handy for the Labor Day trip. I was upset with myself that I didn't go earlier in the day. I walked right past at about 2:00 on my way back from Zona Blue. Figured I would grab a few things in town, stop by the Pres, and then head back. Just missed it! I'll try that fish next time I go-

I ate there three times this trip with other CRTers and never had any problems with the service. The food was great especially for the price. I had the shrimp with hot sauce all three times and it was great. I highly recommend Soda Peru.

The Sopa is called Parajela de Mariscos...and iti s out of this world...My favorite lunch time spot. I have been there perhaps 15 times, and always have loved it...Everyone that I have turned onto it has enjoyed it as well..

I’ve had lunch several times at Soda Peru…

Always a great meal! Fresh fish, prepared perfectly! :!:

Simple and good, prepared and served with great care and pride. :D

I need to try the Parajela de Mariscos next trip, thanks for the tip!

The Sopa Del Mariscos is to die for there. I have never had any soup close to equal. My favorite restaurant in San Jose for lunch. I just wish they were open for dinner.rbc100
