Great tasting ribs where the meat practically fell right off the bone. Just as good as it was last year.

This trip was about 8pm one night, where the first on was during the day.

They had a country-western singer and he did a real good job. His version of John Lennons "Imagine" was really pretty.

Great ribs, atmosphere, and prices. Will try to always make it one time on every trip.

About night time taxis, the desk will have to call for a cab, but that was a non item.

As your wingman I second that! :D

No VIP discount but the food is good and the prices are very reasonable so do not let the lack of a discount keep you away from some good food.

I bet our illustrious leader could arrange for a discount at JR's if he spoke to the owner. It is a favorite of mine for ribs.

NO CRT discount, but they have a weekday lunch special from 12-3pm. You have a choice of 6 items to choose from (ribs, beef, etc) and then you choose the side(s) you like.

2,500¢ ($5) with 1 side
3,000¢ ($6) with 2 sides
3,500¢ ($7) with 3 sides

The regular menu prices aren't very high.

It was our first time there over Labor Day and we enjoyed it. To me, the ribs were very good. But I went with 2 southern boys, so of course, they were critical, but I liked them. The BBQ sauce is excellent. It just so happened we got there at 1, so we each had the lunch special.

JR's was the bomb last year. Stayed open late for the munchies. I hit up the zoo one day with my wingman. 1-2 hours max to see the sites. They have lions, tigers, leopards, monkeys and a tonnage of birds. Outside the zoo there are a ton of vendors, good place to pick up cheap toys for tica K*ds

Toad,

I agree. It makes a nice afternoon to spend some time at the zoo, and then slip into JRs to eat. I've done it several times with favorite Ticas and their bebes. :) I always buy some toys and trinkets for the bebes from the vendors outside the zoo.
