Bigal211 and I went to Wongs yesterday for a light lunch after a strenuous "workout" at a "Gym"

Many years ago I ate frequently at what was at that time considered one of the top 5 Chines restaurants in the US and though it has been a while, I still remember how fantastic the food was there. I have looked for years for a Chinese restaurant that came close. At least for what we had yesterday (egg rolls, shrimp balls and sweet and sour pork) I can honestly say that Wongs was the closest to the Restaurant in Albany, Oregon I have found!!! For a medium priced Chinese restaurant in Costa Rica, it was very busy with a large Tico crowd. In fact my only complaint (and it was not that bad) would be slow service due to shortage of servers for the size of the crowd. Loved what they did with the remodeling--simple but rather elegant. I had the pork and it was without a doubt the most tender pork I have had in Costa Rica. The flavor of the meat, the spices, and the sauces (very hot) was perfect and the vegetables were cooked just right (still crisp).
And our "light" lunch was anything but: very large serving size. I know that if I have not been really hungry after my very "strenuous workout" I could not have eaten it all.
