The answer to this is probably "no", but I'll ask anyway...
Is this soda open on Sundays?

Soda Amon, open M-F is just down the calle from Hotel Castillo. Great food; good value; friendly service; and very accomodating for "special requests". Given it's proximity to the CR gvt. buildings, it attracts a very local, civil servant type crowd. Best to go a bit before lunch or a bit after.

I believe they also serve a breakfast. Not open for dinner.

Another member & I were doing a "low rent" walking tour, actually as we were waiting for Relax to open. We stopped in, they were cooking pork cops and they smelled delicious.

I prefer eating at sodas to tourist traps! I guess its a "when in ROme thing."

I checked out El Chavo last month and really enjoyed it! I went with my wingman the first time for a late lunch. We both had the mixed plate which included beef, chicken, and pork. This was the larger plate that also had 6 tortillas and it is similar to what Scuba mentioned, but its bigger. With a drink it was around $8 per person and its a good amount of food. I love the guac in the little dish on the side and the flavor of the onions, peppers, and pineapple along with the meat. I liked it so much that I went back on my last night for a quick mixed plate. The service was excellent both times I went there and the food came out pretty quickly. A great place for lunch or early dinner during a look around the local MP's. I will certainly be back on future adventures to SJ......

Cheers for the recommendation Scuba!

In my earlier post I'm speaking of pork(cerdo) not chuletas(pork chops)
