Is the Sabana location open on Sundays? Anybody know the hours? Open for dinner?

La Princesa Marina in Sabana is open every day for lunch and dinner.

Orange and I went there last night with a couple chicas. The food was outstanding. The bill came to $54 for 4 of us, and that included appetizers and drinks. IMHO, this place is definitely 2 thumbs up !

I wanted to hit the place up when I was there last week. No time. I'll have to wait for August for the whole fried tilapia and ceviche.

I concur. This place will get be a mandatory visit on each trip. :D

The best ceviche I have EVER had. Priced 1,900¢ versus 3,000¢ at Del Mar, the next best ceviche in town IMO.

Get the before 11:30-12 or after 2:00 for lunch or you will be waiting. Very popular lunch place for Tico's working in the offices around LaSabana.

Sea food soup is great--as is ceviche. Beer is cold. Order a couple of drinks at the same time--service a bit slow--a little understaffed at times.

Great place.

I've been hearing a lot of good things about this place. It looks like this restaurant will be at the top of my agenda during my next trip. (I did not realize this is a restaurant chain.)

Thanks, for the tip!

Had lunch there yesterday (Wednesday) in Sabana with my novia. It was excellent, as usual. They have the best ceviche in San Jose, with Del Mar a pretty distant second. It's about a 1,800-2,000¢ taxi ride from the gulch each way.

A lunch for 2 (w/ceviche, a fish platter, & drink) was about $27, that's only because the waiter misunderstood us and brought over a whole other dish, when we simply wanted a different side item. So it was really more like $21.

BTW, it's not just a fish place. They have pastas, meats, and salads.

I worked up a hefty appetite walking from Barrio Amon to La Princesa by way of the Pacifica rail station and Veronica's MP. When I arrived around 2 pm, the place still had plenty of customers (ticos). I ordered the grilled seafood mix. The total price for the entree and refrescos came to 6K. The food wasn't bad, but not great and likewise, the portions weren't stingy, but not generous, either. (My previous lunch at Machu Picchu may have biased my opinion.) Service was adquate, and the atmosphere is functional. I will give this place another shot...but on my next trip.

For those that haven't been there, BD is bang on about Princessa.

Functional atmosphere, exactly.

Their grilled fish entero is ok, which is what I had everytime I went. Not as fresh as you can get near the coast , but given the price, it is not a bad deal.

Been going there 2, 3x a year for a long time--reports of posters zeroing on this place as source of the ca ca's is a splash of cold water.
