Just to let you guys know, Wendy's just opened for business. Their first location is smack in the middle of San Jose (Avenida Central and Calle 1?). This use to be the old Hardee's; the site is kind of small with not quite enough chairs for that spot. Being brand new, the place is packed at lunch.

They will soon open two more locations, one in Mall San Pedro and one in Santa Ana.

White Castles (or diarrhea burgers, as they are called around here) should do well in CR. Here, they use the lowest quality "beef" available, so they should fit right in San Jose.

Sorry I only had a frosty when we went a few months ago. Didn't try any of the healthy food, just junk.

Wendy's in San Jose is the same as Wendy's in the U.S.

I have, and it tasted fine to me..and this is coming from a picky MF. :) I'd go as far to say I enjoyed that meal more than most of the other glorifed gourmet shit served in CR. 8)

The burger I ate was very comparable to the U.S., much more than the McDonalds and BK, of course this IMHO.

Have to agree that that the KFC is very well run. In fact, I would have to say the same thing about all the American fast food restaurants in San Jose. Several years ago I tried them all and posted a review......The employees were all extremely helpful and cheerful, and seemed to be genuinely proud to be working in these bastians of American capitalism. The restrooms seemed to be up to U.S. standards as well; clean and well stocked with supplies. The food was every bit as good as in the U.S. :)

Will have to check out the new Wendy's on my July trip. I always hit the good ol' fast food places at least twice on my trips. That KFC has been real handy for when I come back last from an all-day tour and want something fast.

YO Wendy Wonkers:

Old Circus use to love the chili served by Wendys up until about a year before the Godfather Dave died. It use to have lots of burger beef and was really tasty. I use to buy several containers at a time and freeze them for meals later on.

Sadly, the meat almost completely dissapeared and lower quality beans became the main staple. I even sent emails to their home office inquiring as to why they spoiled probably the most noted item on their menu. SILENCE !!!! No response.

Dave, if possible, must be looking down on this and saying "SHIT, those cheap bastards!!!" And if his daughter is running the operation then I despise the wench.

Yep. The chili was what brought Circus to their stores. Hell, I would have paid more if the product had still remained the same......I just want to eat beefy chili and enjoy. No Mas.

I can only imagine now how the chili must be in CR when decent beef is on the endangered species list in that 3rd world eatery of culinary offerings......yea, I know......should be a packaged product for all franchizes......NOT....CR will screw it up even more. They will probably take out the 1 ounce of beef in the 8 ounce cup and replace it with.......who knows????

I ate lunch at the Wendy's on Central Avenida today. Was very pleased with everything. They keep the place spotless. :)
