If you are hungry and want GOOD food cheap and fast in the Gultch why not go to either Costa Del Sol or Mariscar? It is a little more than the KL but certainly miles ahead for quality.

I joined a couple of chicas for a meal at KL one night and thought it was well worth the price. As a matter of fact, after a couple of hours I sat down to eat again. The next day I walked over for the cheap eats and nothing looked to appealing, the same thing on my next trip there. It just might be hit or miss.

The soda on the corner is okay. It's nothing to brag about. As a matter of fact one day, and I know I mentioned before that I wouldn't eat at American restaurants while in CR, my chica and I were hungry and I did not want sit down and order, wait for the food, so we walked over to Mickey D's and ordered take out. It hit the spot. Sometimes, especially when I'm drinking for a long period of time, I want food ASAP if I get the hunger pains. Which is rare, because I don't usaully eat while I'm drinking.

Also, My wingman and I both got food poisoning from eating a home cook meal at a chicas house. She is Dominican and this was the first time we both at Dominican food, it was bad going down but it was a party and everyone was watching us. The food was very bland... would not recommend eating Dominican food. I know I will never eat it again. We were both bedridden for at least twenty four hours, I missed out on one night at the world famous Del Rey!!!! I love the DR!!

The Tico food tastes great to me.

Hey, I stop at Chelle's just about every night I'm in SJ when I leave the Del Ray or Key Largo, you can get a few hot empanadas and run or eat them there. It's always open and its fun to see who is there. The very first night I was in SJ maye 5 ot 6 years ago, I arrived late, needed to get something to eat and Chelle's was what I found. I'm glad they reopened after the fire.

I've never eaten at the Key Largo, that stuff just sits out there for days, or so it seems. I see all the ladies eating there so maybe its not too bad, I don't know.

It must have gone downhill. It has been a couple of years, but I ate the buffet several times and thought it was ok for what it was. Has anyone eaten the buffet at the Monkey Bar recently? I used to eat there a couple of times a week.

If the food at the main restaurant sucks, the food in the buffet has to also since that's where it's cooked. It looks awful at midnight but I've had it first thing around 7pm and it's been fine.

When I have seen the buffet. Usually after 11, it looks unedible.

The buffet at the KL could not be worse than it is. AM food fine. Dining Room lunch and dinner average at best and overpriced.

Think we getting a little off course here which could be confusing to a newbie.

This is in reference to the food served at the restaurant Del Mar which, while part of the HDR/KL complex, is separate from the KL and open 24 hours. It advertises itself as a gourmet restaurant. It replaced the restaurant in the HDR.

This is a buffet set up in the KL when it is open mainly for the chicas to get a fairly low cost meal. It would never be confused with a gourmet restaurant.
