Jmacaula,

You should not be having any problem finding food. A young, buff, good looking stud with red shoelaces should have 10 or 12 chicas just waiting to show him their favorite little hideaway restaurant or even take him home for a meal.

Seriously anyone who can not find good food with plenty of variety in the gulch is either brain dead or from another planet.

It's time for you to grow up young man.

Various users have different motivations for trolling. A common factor to most of them is the desire to draw attention to the troll. Inflammatory, sarcastic, disruptive or humorous content is posted, meant to draw other users into engaging the troll in a fruitless confrontation. The more attention the troll's activities draw from users, the more persistent the troll's behavior in the forum. This gives rise to the often repeated protocol in internet culture: "Do not feed the trolls."

On that subject of proper grammar.......actually, that is getting to be a real bone of contention for major corporations and their younger hires [NBC NEWS REPORT, Thursday, November 10]. It seems the younger generations are so used to using this slang and abbreviated text messaging that it is spilling over into the corporate business world. This, along with a general decline in the ability to speak, write, spell, use proper grammar, punctuation, etc. in the English language is a huge problem. Some corporations are actually offering refresher courses to their hires to strengthen their abilities in proper communication skills.

I'm sure there are plenty of reasons for this decline, not limited solely to text messaging, and I'm sure all of us are witnessing more and more of this all the time.

Exactly my point. In the past with high school you usually had to have 3 english courses before you could graduate. Now they have EBONICS! Yes, thats right you can take classes on how to talk in slang, and you graduate with it.

Its sad world

[quote="Jmacaula"]Sorry for the spelling problems. After using MSN for years and picking up tons of slang, grammer seemed to take a big hit. Also if you look I wrote that at nearly 2AM

Thanks to those that actually posted useful comments. The thing about the pizza and the point and buy purchase was I was looking for more of a meal, not just odd things like a slice of pizza.

Which is why you should try to find a wing-man who speaks a little Spanish. Here's a hint. Politely approach any group of gringo gentlemen in the Blue Marlin, the tables nearest the windows, right across from the Monkey Bar. Politely ask "CRT?" If acknowledged, introduce yourself and offer to buy a round. Well, buying the round isn't strictly necessary, but it couldn't hurt. :)

Secondly, if you really can't deal with non-English speaking restaurant staff and Spanish menus, take a cab to the Outback Steak House or something like that, in Escazu'. I'm certain that you'll find at least one person in the News Cafe or 'Chelle's who speaks enough English to understand a full meal order. Same goes for the Del Mar (expensive), Costa del Sol (Phuck pizza, although their's is awesome, try the Don Gordo special Chicken Parmesana...it rocks). Tinjo restaurant has awesome Chinese food, Indian, Thai and even Japanese food...and the names for your favorite Asian dishes are the same in English and Spanish.

Ive been to the supermarket 2-3 times now, but never thought to actully buy food and prepare something myself.

Well, you don't even really need to "prepare" anything. The Automercado store has a deli, and I believe they'll fix sandwich and sides...this is the one near the Police Headquarters and Farmacia Fischal. I know they sell some delicious stuff in their bakery department.

I understand that you're in-country and in a bit of a crisis, so I won't send you reading through the Restaurant Reviews section, but just be brave and try to find something good to eat!

Don't be spending all this time on the computer, getting ragged on by guys here who are having fun giving you a huge amount of mierda. They're just jealous of your 18 year youth, abilities to win chicas, disarm muggers and leap tall buildings at a single bound.

:P
:D
Next trip: Learn some basic Spanish, try to arrange a hook-up with a fellow CRT'er who can translate (such as myself), bring Cliff bars...
