I have read all the reviews and the more I read the more confused I get. I am travelling alone and want to know the best places within walking distance to the HDR. Will be there 3 days so 3 brkfast, lunch, and dinner options are what I am hoping for. I like to leave the hotel and walk 2-3 blocks and know that where I am eating has decent food. Thanks in advance.

There is a mini mall about a block and a half down the street that has a good seafood place...and cheap. There are also numerous options on the way to the Mercado Central. You'll adjust in about five minutes. Enjoy.

Breakfast outside at the Hotel Grand Costa Rica, overlooking the Theatro National is always a good take. Get there around 8:30 - 9am to view all the fair maidens on their way to work.

The options for dining within walking distance of HDR are almost too numerous to list. Take a look at the CRT VIP map. The popular locations are all on the map. HDR is in downtown SJ, within a few blocks of the Plaza de la Cultura so everything downtown is practically at your doorstep. For a 3 day trip you will only have oportunity to scratch the surface of what is available.
