Soda Amon is just around the corner from new fantasy. I ate there on my last day and wish I had found it sooner. Very basic place with great food and cheap prices. All the new fantasy chicas order their lunches from there.

Around which corner? Sadly, it has been a while but I usually stay in the area. Your description could mean the place across from ICE that was a Chinese restaurant followed by a poor fish place (sweet ceviche?), or down the alley by the Hemingway or near one of the corners of Calle 7 and Avenida 9.

Just around the corner? Is there a sign or what?

From new fantasy walk toward ZB and take a left at the first light( about one hundred feet from the door to new fantasy) and walk halfway up the street past the back packers hostel and you will see the sign.

OK, there have been places near there for years that I haven't visited. Sadly I haven't been down this year, though I'll check it out when I get back to town. Anyplace good that stays in business for more than a few months is welcome. So many places show promise and then fold. Amon has a history of sodas/restaurants trying to make it besause of the INS crowd and coming up a bit short. Places like Criolitas manage better by having a dinner crowd too. The pulperia in the front doesn't hurt. I wish them well.
