Planning to take advantage of the all you can eat and drink plan at the Castillo for a couple of days, then heading around to visit the few remaining aging CRTers who never migrated to Colombia or Thailand, including ole BangBang57 in Cartago.

22nd CRT anniversary Party Labor Day Weekend at the Sportsman's as well. Hope Channel 7 doesn't set up in front like they did in 2008!

Gotta root around for my Lifetime Membership Card. Still get the discounts, right?

Also looking forward to hitting the Blue Marlin, Delrey, Key Largo, Zona Blue, Scores, New Fantasy, Pantera Rosa, Alcasar and all the gulch hot spots!!

Sorry PR your "Costa Rica Sucks" refrain back in the day directly caused all of these closures and ruined the entire scene :D

Yeah, I guess it was all my fault :P

Of course in reality that began on May 8 2010 when Laura Chinchilla become president of Costa Rica and vowed to end the reputation of her country as a sex tourism destination. She was pretty successful. And when CubaDave got locked up everyone went scurrying.

And now, by coming in with low expectations, it's unlikely you will be disappointed!

Bill may be gone but his business endures. The Sportsman's was hopping on a Wednesday night in rainy season. Was pleasantly surprised to see the quality and quantity of company available. The Castillo had a number of female visitors engaging the patrons in the aggressive Delrey style I had quite frankly long forgotten about. The All inclusive deal smoothed out any rough edges.

Good day one in the books!

Let me turn this question around and ask "What is still left?" I am a veteran of the Gulch from years past and considering a trip to CR (San Jose and possibly Jaco?), but with everything I read about what is now gone, it leaves me wondering what is left? I know that Sportsmans, Castillo, and Taormina are still active, but what else is left to make me want to go there?

I am celebrating my first trip to CR on Labor day weekend 2001. Earl Montoya ( known as the Duke of Earl) picked me up at the airport. Now 24 years later even though I have some heart problems but I am still enjoying CR. This trip I am at the Barcelo.

What's kinda Interesting here is that quite a few damas de compania think their job lasts until retirement age. A women in the Taormina in the casino during the daytime had to be social security eligible as you was grabbing my arm. The Castillo is basically 60 plus fellas and 40 plus ladies.
