Are the roads clear from LIR? Recommended places to stay & see? thanks
Everyday the news is about the rain and road closures.
https://ticotimes.net/categories/road-closuresThe articles in that link are all from August 17, 2020 and older.
Here is a more current summary:
https://ticotimes.net/2022/10/06/update ... s-patheticTruth be told, it IS the rainy season and there are some bad roads but the OP is asking about the road conditions from the Liberia Airport (LIR) to Tamarindo. Also, given his handle, he is likely to be a Tall man named Richard who works for a Car Rental Company so he may be getting some discounts.
Still, I would recommend an airport shuttle to Tamarindo and then Uber/Taxi in town.
As far as sights to see, they will all be in Tamarindo. Bars and Beaches. To the south of town is Playa Langosta which is mostly private homes and condos. However, north of town if you wade across the river mouth (watch the current and crocodiles
) is Playa Grande which is less developed.
